preselection 2015The Society for AIDS in Africa acknowledges receipt of 3 BID documents from Tunisia, Ghana and RDC.

We are calling all registered SAA members to check their email and to exercise their right by preselecting the host country of the 18th Edition of the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA 2015).

The BID documents are available only for SAA registered members on the portal that will be sent to your mail box. Members will access each BID document and will score accordingly. The Two BIDs with the highest scores will be pre-selected and presented to SAA Governing Boardoard for final selection of the ICASA 2015 Host Country.

 

CRITERIA FOR PRE-SELECTION (each criterion will be scored from 1 to 10)

  1. Strong Government political will to host the conference.
  2. Strong financial commitment of the government to host the conference. (At least 20% of what the total cost would be.)
  3. Availability of standard hotels to accommodate up to 10,000 participants as well as conference venue(s) with standard conference facilities.
  4. Good transportation network within the country.
  5. Good tele-communication network within the country with links with other African countries and international communities.
  6. Presence of cohorts of scientific leadership, civil societies, organized groups of PLHIV, private sectors and youth organizations oriented towards HIV/AIDS related activities.
  7. Easy access by air and by road where needed.
  8. Recognizable presence of Government organ/body responsible for HIV/AIDS coordination in the country.
  9. Good security network to protect participants’ safety.
  10. Guarantied easy visa facilities and assistance to conference participants and no restriction to entry for PLHIV, MSM and other minorities groups.
  11. Political stability.
  12. No discriminatory government policies based on gender, HIV status and religion.

These pre-selections are extremely important for the Society for Aids in Africa the Custodian of ICASA. Please consider the call and make sure that you score each BID according to the criteria.
